Congratulations to JR for his run through the State Tournament ending in a Heavyweight State Title. This kid is definately having a great senior season. Braxton Brannon, his teammate at 215 pounds finsihed 5th and Mooresville as a team finished 15th in a field of 71 with 36 total team points. The rest of the NPC finished as follows: North Iredell 20 points for 20th, West Rowan with 14 points for 33rd, Northwest Cabarrus with 6 points for 46th and Lake Norman with 5 points for 50th. I was a little surprised at such a low finish for Lake Norman after them finishing in second place in the NPC. North Iredell's Johnny Church won the silver medal at 171 pounds and also had a great senior season. Congratulations to all the wrestlers who qualified for the States, their coaches and their families and other supporters.

my brother-in-law was at the state tournament and said that bone brannon had his guy easily whipped on points but lost his focus and was suddenly pinned in the closing seconds of his match. mooresville will be losing a great wrestling coach in paxton. those seniors fared pretty well this season. congrats to jr and bone on a good senior season!

dog has one of them trophies on his mantle too!
