It is always interesting to see what the fans think...

What rules changes would you like to see next year (or in the near future)?

I don't like that kick offs in the endzone are automatic touch backs.

Also don't like that blocked kicks can't be advanced by the defense.

Never have been a fan of the no return from end zone. Think that ball should be live for point after attempts both PAT and two-point.

horse-collar needs to be reviewed.

Muffed punts, blocked PAT's and FG's, blocked punts all need to be allowed to be advanced. A turnover on a two point conversion should be allowed to go the other way for 2.

As a defensive coach this one drives me insane:

The other team tries a 50 yard field goal. Line of scrimmage is the 33, holder is at the 40. If the kicker misses it we get the ball at the 20. WHAT?!?! I just lost yards when I stopped the other team, kept them from getting points and I don't get the ball where the other team was stopped?

It's gotten to the point now that we just try a field goal to pin the other team at the 20, even if we know the kicker can't make a FG from that distance. We'll still gain 20 yards out of it.

i always thought that if you missed a fieldgoal inside the 20 the ball goes back to the 20 but if you missed from outside the 20 the ball goes back to the line of scrimmage of the missed fg.

84K - you are thinking NCAA rules

In high school rules...a missed field goal is just like a punt. If it misses and crosses the goal line - touchback. If it misses and does not cross the goal line, it belongs to team B wherever it is first touched by team A or where it becomes dead.

College rule is different - If the snap is from inside the 20 missed (whether or not the ball crossed the GL) and the ball is untouched by B after crossing the neutral zone, B's ball at the 20. If the snap was from outside the 20, B's ball as that previous spot.

If you have a better kicker than punter it might not be a bad idea to attempt a FG. there is a lot more that can wrong snap-holder-kick PLUS a great chanceof a block but... you might push the ball further down field.

I agree I don't like the rule at all. I don't understand the logic of it. It is a rule setup to penalize the team that just played well because they played well.
